About Us

Downing College has had an active student drama society for many years. In the past, Downing Drama has produced highly entertaining and varied shows, including adaptations of Pride and Prejudice and Dracula. We have also had many Cabaret evenings, featuring sketches, songs, and other Vaudeville-style entertainment. The DDS also frequently mounted a Michaelmas Term production only for first year students. Most recently, this was Love and Other Fairytales by Nick Revell, performed at Downing in November 2008. With the brand new Howard Theatre, Downing Drama finally has its own designated performance space. We plan to produce a show a term in the Howard Theatre. If you would like to get involved with Downing Drama, or if you would like more information on putting on a show in the Howard Theatre, let us know! Find our details here
